Jason Black serves as the Dean of Admission for Samford University where he has lead the admission and recruitment staff to record numbers in applications received and number of admitted freshmen. In 2013, 2015, and 2016 Black lead Samford to the largest freshmen class in Samford history. His efforts have been instrumental in increasing the University’s profile, diversity, and enrollment. Each year, Dean Black has used various types of data and predictive modeling to help Samford get the best students who “fit.” He has revolutionized the admission and scholarship process while maintaining 100% transparency. Black believes the right process, with the right people, will get you the right students.
His expertise includes CRM implementation, enrollment forecasting, Student Search strategies, geodemographic research and predictive modeling. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from Samford. He and his wife, Holly, are parents of one daughter, Evie and two sons, John Baker and Walker.
